Keeping students safe

Our commitment

The welfare of a student comes before everything else, including lesson plans, schedules and fees. Everyone who tutors for Revolearn is expected to work in a way that is open to parents and can be checked.

How lessons are conducted

• Lessons take place on video, through an account arranged by Revolearn
• A parent is welcome at any lesson, without notice. For younger students we suggest working in a shared family room rather than a bedroom
• Tutors keep their camera on, dress appropriately and teach from a suitable room
• Lesson times are agreed with the parent, and parents receive a summary after lessons
• If a lesson would ever be recorded, we will ask the parent first and explain who could see it

How we communicate

• Arrangements, payments and any concerns go through the parent, not the student
• Contact happens through Revolearn's own channels: the WhatsApp number and email address on this site, and the lesson platform
• Tutors do not contact students on personal phone numbers, personal email or social media, and do not meet students in person
• Tutors do not offer lessons to our students privately, outside Revolearn

Who teaches your child

We check who a tutor is and what they can teach before they work with a student, and we tell you who will be teaching your child. Our requirements for tutors are published openly on the Join our team page. If you would like to know more about the person teaching your child, ask us and we will tell you.

If something concerns you

Tell us, however small it seems. You can message 07949 348441 or email revolearnuk@gmail.com. We will listen, write down what you tell us, and explain what we will do next.

If we believe a child is at risk of harm, we will pass our concern to the local authority children's services or the police. We will normally tell a parent that we are doing so, unless telling them would put the child at greater risk.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. You can also contact the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 at any time, and Childline is on 0800 1111 for young people.

Records and review

Concerns are written down and kept securely, separately from ordinary lesson records, and are shared only with those who need to know. How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy. This statement is reviewed every year, and sooner if anything about how we work changes.
