The step up from GCSE
A strong GCSE grade does not guarantee a comfortable start at A-Level. The course expects fluency that was previously optional, and gaps compound quickly.
Rigorous method
Marks depend on setting out a clear, justified argument. Reaching the right answer by an unclear route does not score fully.
Linear assessment
All papers are sat at the end of Year 13, so Year 12 content must be retained rather than revised once and set aside.
The large data set
Statistics questions assume genuine familiarity with the prescribed data set, which is difficult to acquire late in the course.

- Kinematics, Newton's laws, connected particles, moments and projectiles, including modelling assumptions.
