How our tutoring works.

Lessons are one-to-one, online, and planned around the individual student. This page explains how tutoring is arranged and what to expect at each stage.

Arranging tutoring.

From first enquiry to ongoing lessons, the process is straightforward and there is no obligation at any stage.

  1. 01

    Get in touch

Tell us the subject, the year group and what your child is finding difficult. We will respond with clear next steps.

  2. 02

    Tutor matching

We match your child with a tutor who specialises in that subject and teaches to their exam board and specification.

  3. 03

    An initial lesson

The first lesson establishes where your child is now and which areas need attention, and forms the basis of a learning plan.

  4. 04

    Ongoing lessons

Lessons run to an agreed schedule, with the plan reviewed as your child progresses and examinations approach.

What lessons involve.

Every session is taught individually, using a shared online workspace so tutor and student can work through problems together.

One-to-one throughout

Lessons are never taught in groups. The tutor works with your child for the full session and adapts the pace to them.

Taught to the specification

Tutors teach to the exam board and tier your child's school has entered them for, using that board's past papers and mark schemes.

A plan that adapts

The learning plan agreed after the first lesson is reviewed as your child progresses and as examinations approach.

Keeping parents informed.

You will know what your child is working on and how they are progressing, without having to chase for an update.

  • A short written summary after lessons, covering what was taught and what to focus on next.
  • A learning plan agreed after the initial lesson and reviewed as your child progresses.
  • Direct contact with us whenever you would like a fuller picture of how things are going.

Questions parents ask.
