Do I need a teaching qualification?

No. Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain it clearly matter most. Teaching or tutoring experience is a plus.

Can university students apply?

Yes, as long as you meet the grade requirements for the level you would teach.

Which subjects can I tutor?

Maths, English and Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science) at GCSE and A-Level. We do not offer other subjects.

Are lessons online or in person?

All lessons are online, one-to-one over video call. There are no in-person lessons.

How much will I be paid?

Pay depends on the level you teach and your experience. We go through it with you on the video call.

How many hours will I teach?

Tell us your weekly availability when you apply, and we match you with students whose lesson times fit it.

What the role involves

You teach the subject you know best, one-to-one, to students preparing for their GCSE and A-Level exams.

One student at a time

Every lesson is one-to-one. You get to know each student, set out a learning plan after the first lesson and adapt it as they progress.

Your specialist subject

You teach only the subjects and levels you know best, to the student's exam board: AQA, Edexcel or OCR.

Online, from home

Lessons run over video call with a shared workspace, so you can tutor from anywhere in the UK. Lessons are arranged around your availability.

Who we are looking for

Real subject strength and clear explanations matter more to us than a long list of credentials.

Top grades in the subject you want to teach: at least an A at A-Level to tutor GCSE, and a related degree, completed or in progress, to tutor A-Level
Up-to-date knowledge of the AQA, Edexcel or OCR specification you would teach
Experience tutoring or teaching, or a clear, patient way of explaining ideas
A computer, a reliable internet connection and a quiet place to teach
The right to work in the UK
An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to get one before you start
